As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, internal processes, commitments, and goals of the organization. You are an agent of change who enjoys working in a complex and dynamic environment while inspiring others to achieve milestones and drive results. You are comfortable shifting between the big picture and minor details to deliver company goals. Reporting to the Group Marketing Manager , this hybrid position will be based both at The Scotts Canada Head Office in Mississauga Ontario along with additional work from home flexibility.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provides continuity across the business and is the overall champion of the product commercialization process. This position leads and influences a cross-functional commercialization team and keeps the enterprise aware of resourcing and other organizational constraints. Integration with the business teams is key while facilitating enterprise prioritization and responsibility for product commercialization progress.

  • Proactively manage projects by using critical project management thinking skills, including but not limited to, maintaining established scope of work and development of project plan, facilitating collaboration and communication between cross functional teams, managing timelines for project tasks within defined project management software, including mitigation of risks as necessary, reporting, ensuring goals are tracked and met, and effectively coordinating activities with project team.

  • Collaborate in project scope development, identify required resources and deliverables.

  • Present reports to leadership team on progress as well as problems and solutions

  • Generate and present project status dashboards to aid in management decision making

  • Identify process and performance improvements to commercialize products more efficiently

  • Assist management and leadership team with other special projects and requests as necessary

  • Coordinate and lead cross functional team meetings including but not limited to providing meeting agendas and recaps, conflict resolution as needed and providing concise and digestible communication

  • Identify resource gaps and make recommendations to management team

  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with team members

  • Works closely with external vendors and plays key role in commercialization accountability

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation


Ideal Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s, Business Management or related field, MBA a plus

  • Experience: Proven experience (3 to 5+ years) in project management, preferably in a consumer products or manufacturing environment.

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred.

  • Bilingual (French / English) would be an asset Specific skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in new product development processes, including concept development, design validation, and commercialization.

  • Hands on Experience using SAP, PLM/PPM

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic growth-oriented environment and effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines while motivating individual contributors to succeed.

  • Proven project management, problem solving and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with a proven record of building relationships and collaborating across multiple operations and corporate support functions.
