Job Overview

We are thrilled to invite applications for the position of Financial Analyst FP&A Consultant within our esteemed organization in the healthcare sector. This role, based in El Segundo, California, presents an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in data analysis, financial reporting, and budget management across diverse operational sites. As a key contributor, you will enhance our financial operations and play a pivotal role in our financial planning and analysis initiatives.

Work Schedule

This position requires on-site work from Monday to Thursday at our El Segundo office, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.

Duration

This temporary role, covering maternity leave, will commence in mid-November and last for approximately 4-5 months. Exceptional performance may lead to opportunities for a permanent position as a Senior Financial Analyst, depending on organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Continuously update, maintain, and analyze financial and operational reports, ensuring their accuracy and relevance. Responsibilities include preparing monthly performance dashboards, financial statements, and variance analysis reports.
  • Budget Preparation & Forecasting: Participate in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Conduct in-depth variance analysis to pinpoint discrepancies and recommend corrective measures.
  • Data Management: Employ SQL for data extraction, analysis, and report generation. Manage extensive datasets to derive essential insights that facilitate informed financial decision-making.
  • Site-Level Financial Oversight: Supervise financial activities across multiple business locations. Provide detailed financial analysis at the site level, identify trends, and formulate actionable recommendations to improve performance.
  • Financial Modeling: Design and maintain intricate financial models that underpin budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Reporting Improvements: Seek opportunities to enhance reporting accuracy and optimize the budgeting and forecasting processes, including the development of automated reporting tools and methods where feasible.
  • Collaboration: Engage closely with operational managers and senior leadership to gather financial data, comprehend business needs, and ensure alignment of financial strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and prepare customized reports for senior management as required.

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in accrual accounting and auditing.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis is essential.
  • Familiarity with accounting software systems such as ADP Financial Services, CRM, and Crystal Reports.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A commitment to remaining current on industry trends and developments.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis roles is required.
  • Familiarity with budget processes and capital management is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry is highly desirable.
