Job description

What success looks like in this role:

  • Deploying, managing, and maintaining OpenShift clusters within a cloud environment.
  • Collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to optimize the CI/CD pipeline for OpenShift applications.
  • Monitoring the performance, security, and scalability of OpenShift clusters and associated applications.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to OpenShift deployments and DevOps processes.
  • Implementing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible for managing OpenShift environments.
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in OpenShift, Kubernetes, and DevOps to continuously improve the cloud infrastructure.
  • Implementing best practices for containerization, orchestration, and automation using DevOps principles.
  • Provisioning, configuring, and managing virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, and other Azure infrastructure services.
  • Monitoring the performance, availability, and cost of Azure resources, and optimizing the infrastructure to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Implementing and maintaining security measures such as access controls, network security groups, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Planning and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies for Azure resources to ensure business continuity.
  • Scaling Azure resources based on demand and implementing automation using tools like Azure Automation, PowerShell, or ARM templates.
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to Azure infrastructure, networking, and services, and providing support to users or other IT teams.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams to support application deployments, and maintaining documentation for Azure infrastructure configurations and processes.
  • Keeping abreast of Azure updates, new features, and best practices, and incorporating them into the organization's infrastructure strategy.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree or related engineering degree completed.
  • Strong communication skills in Spanish and advanced English
  • Azure Certification: Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and virtualization, along with relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect.
  • OpenShift Knowledge: Familiarity with OpenShift, including experience with deploying, managing, and maintaining OpenShift clusters and applications.
  • DevOps Experience: Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing, and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub.
  • Containerization Skills: Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, along with specific knowledge of how OpenShift utilizes containers for application deployment and management.
  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, as well as experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Ability to monitor and troubleshoot Azure and OpenShift environments, utilizing logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Security and Compliance: Understanding of security best practices in cloud and container environments, including knowledge of Azure security features and OpenShift security hardening.
  • Continuous Learning: A mindset for continuous learning and staying updated on the latest Azure, OpenShift, and DevOps technologies, tools, and best practices.
