The Role

The Compliance and Data Analyst II is a mid-level professional responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all relevant regulatory requirements while providing more advanced data analysis to drive compliance decision-making. This role requires a deeper understanding of both compliance regulations and data analysis techniques. The Compliance and Data Analyst II will work closely with senior compliance officers, risk management teams, and other departments to maintain a robust compliance framework and improve operational efficiency through data insights.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Play a key role in the management and improvement of compliance frameworks, such as ISO, NIST, PCI, etc. Ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory requirements and industry certifications.
  • Lead the risk assessment process, proactively identifying compliance risks and proposing optimized control measures. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to prioritize risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain, update, and enhance the compliance control and risk library, ensuring the database is comprehensive and accessible to both internal teams and external auditors.-Monitoring & Testing: Design and perform ongoing monitoring and testing of compliance controls to ensure their effectiveness, recommending improvements when needed.
  • Lead the investigation and remediation of any compliance issues, ensuring appropriately risk rated and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Take a leadership role in the development, review, and refinement of company policies and procedures to ensure continuous alignment with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Leverage advanced SQL skills to analyze large and complex data sets, interpreting trends and anomalies that could indicate compliance risks. Work with IT and Engineering teams to enhance system integrations, ensuring smooth data flow for compliance monitoring.
  • Prepare in-depth reports and presentations for senior leadership and external regulators, summarizing risk assessments, control effectiveness, and compliance performance. Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Work closely with teams across Engineering, Product, Legal, and Operations to ensure compliance considerations are integrated into business processes and product development. Act as a liaison between departments to facilitate regulatory adherence.
  • Proactively identify areas where compliance processes can be streamlined or automated. Collaborate with IT and Engineering to develop and implement solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as a mentor to junior compliance analysts and LAC Clerks, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Lead small teams or projects related to compliance initiatives.

  • Technical Experience
  • Demonstrates advanced expertise in SQL, with the ability to oversee complex query optimization, data extraction, and reporting processes across multiple databases and systems. Able to mentor junior staff in SQL best practices.
  • Leads the identification and implementation of automation opportunities, ensuring the optimization of compliance processes at a departmental or enterprise level. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to introduce scalable, efficient solutions.
  • Exhibits exceptional analytical abilities to assess large, complex datasets. Capable of identifying high-level patterns, trends, and compliance risks, translating insights into strategic recommendations for leadership.
  • Possesses deep, strategic knowledge of regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, etc.), with the ability to guide their application in a fintech environment. Ensures alignment with evolving industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversees the integration of multiple systems to ensure seamless data flow for compliance monitoring and reporting. Provides strategic direction on system integration projects to improve data consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Designs, directs, and oversees the execution of comprehensive compliance monitoring and testing strategies. Leverages advanced automated tools to ensure rigorous control testing, validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drives the implementation and optimization of GRC platforms or similar compliance management tools. Ensures effective risk tracking, control oversight, and compliance activities across the organization.
  • Expertly utilizes data visualization and reporting tools (Excel, Looker, Power BI) to create strategic, high-impact compliance dashboards and reports for executive-level stakeholders. Provides mentorship on best practices.
  • Oversees the development of comprehensive, detailed compliance policies and procedures. Ensures documentation aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, driving consistency across departments.
  • Leads issue management efforts, leveraging platforms to track, escalate, and resolve compliance or risk events. Provides strategic insight on issue resolution and mitigation.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency with Mac systems, Google Suite (G Suite), and enterprise tools. Oversees the adoption and effective use of tools like JIRA, AuditBoard, Snowflake, and Looker across teams.
