Job purpose - The Infrastructure Process Support role is primarily responsible for supporting the Infrastructure Obsolescence Management process stages, resource & budget planning, process reporting and identifying process improvements. The role is required to support other infrastructure processes as required, and also provide support with the scoping, budgeting and reporting of Infrastructure strategic and risk/audit remediation initiatives.

Operational:

  • Support implementation and running of the Infrastructure Obsolescence BAU process to meet the organisations IT asset obsolescence requirements.
  • Provide support as required with the delivery of each stage of the obsolescence management process through working with a core team of Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Testing, and Security and Platform Operations resource. Ensure process governance is communicated and monitored for adherence.
  • Provide support with process working group meetings and governance board meetings.
  • Perform data analysis for Infrastructure process input, performance and output. Identify process bottlenecks and propose recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintain and update reporting dashboards for measuring asset obsolescence and other Infrastructure MI dashboards.
  • Provide support in the annual Infrastructure budget planning cycles, and with the ongoing Infrastructure financial management reporting processes and resource management.

Strategic:

  • Support collecting, analysis and presenting information required to understand and make decisions about technology obsolescence and other Infrastructure processes.
  • Develop guidance and training for Obsolescence Management and other Infrastructure process.
  • Support the building and budgeting of Infrastructure strategic/risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Support with the identification and delivery of Obsolescence Management and other Infrastructure process improvements.

  • Good process management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive cross-functional teams.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated with the ability to take ownership for business unit goals and tasks, make sound decisions in a timely manner, and use good judgment and keep initiatives moving.
  • Build peer relationships with other key departments and stakeholders to drive forward and achieve common organizational goals.

Knowledge, skills and abilities - competencies required for successful job performance

  • Understanding of Information Technology disciplines: Infrastructure, Applications, Data, etc.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology Asset Management systems, Configuration Management Database systems, and similar tools/technologies.
  • Process management tooling e.g. Jira / Confluence
  • Strong process documentation/writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office / 365 apps and reporting tools e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage the details of digging into, tracking, and communicating the technical and business aspects of various issues, as well as being able to communicate the process at a higher level to internal and sometimes external stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand problems.
  • Understanding of risk management and audit process
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; collaborates effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Effective presentation skills.

Qualifications / certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience working in financial and/or regulated organisation
  • Background IT infrastructure project management or business process management desire
