Job Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Fully Remote
Reports to: Managing Attorney
Schedule:
• 40 hours per day; Monday to Friday; 9am to 5pm Chicago, Illinois, USA time with a 30-minute paid break
Job Overview:
We seek a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our fully remote team. The Legal Assistant will provide critical support to the Managing Attorney and collaborate with other team members, including the Executive Sales Assistant, Executive Marketing Assistant, and Legal Assistants, to ensure the efficient operation of the firm. The ideal candidate must have an excellent command of English, be highly organized, and demonstrate the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Document Management:
• Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Assist in preparing documents for court filings and submissions to regulatory agencies.
• Maintain and organize electronic files and case management systems.
• Client Communication:
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders via email, phone, and video conferencing.
• Assist with scheduling meetings, client follow-ups, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Research:
• Conduct basic legal research and compile information as needed for case preparation or internal projects.
• Assist with the preparation of reports, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Administrative Support:
• Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys and other team members.
• Assist with maintaining internal documentation, including contracts, client records, and compliance materials.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Managing Attorney, Legal Assistants, and Paralegals to support day-to-day operations.
• Collaborate with the Executive Sales and Marketing Assistants on client relations and firm outreach efforts.
Requirements
• Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role.
• Skills:
• Excellent written and spoken English is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, document management software, and legal research tools.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Attributes:
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to tasks and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
• Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
