Assistant or Associate Professor of School Psychology and Academic Program Director for School Psychology

POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of ABA, School Psychology, and Ed Counseling (ASPEC), in the Sanford College of Education (SCOE) at National University invites applications for an Assistant or an Associate Professor in School Psychology who will also serve as the Academic Program Director of the School Psychology program. Rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience. At the Associate rank, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and scholarship in their field, while an Assistant Professor will exhibit or have the potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship in their field.This position is remote. This position works closely with other faculty within the discipline and administration within the department, college, and university contributing to programmatic strategies that ensure program quality, student engagement, and success. We are looking for a candidate who will lead and grow the school psychology academic program, including leadership in the areas of accreditation, curriculum development, while also teaching program courses. Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body.
Essential Functions:
Candidates will be evaluated for their level of proficiency and potential (for excellence) in teaching, scholarship, and service. The main expectations of this position include:
Teaching
- Teach and develop online courses in the following areas: 1) Promoting mental health, academic, social-emotional development, and supporting students with diverse needs, 2) Implementing data-informed decision-making methods, prevention and intervention methods and 3) Utilzing community collaboration and consultation methods.
- Maintain pedagogical/andragogical and subject matter expertise in the instructor’s field.
- Create an inclusive and positive learning environment for diverse learners.
- Ensure course and program practices align with compliance and accreditation standards.
- Adhere to the National University’s academic integrity policy.
Scholarship
- Maintain a productive scholarship agenda suitable to a teaching university.
- Engage in scholarly activities to maintain professional growth.
- Participate in professional development as outlined in faculty policies.
Service
- Participate in curriculum oversight, shared governance, and the student experience.
- Serve on committees at the program, department, school/college or/and university level and engage in community activities that promote program outreach and university goals.
- Participate in program meetings and advisory boards to integrate best practices and strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Education & Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D.) in School Psychology or related discipline.
- Experience in academic program administration, including accreditation (if applicable), developing and teaching program courses.
- State-issued credential or license in School Psychology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialization in School Psychology.
- Demonstrated program leadership experience.
- Online higher education teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining courses.
Special conditions of employment include:
- Background check required.
- Travel is required at least once annually to attend the annual Commencement ceremony (if held onsite).

Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $66,560.00 - $84,360.00
Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position.
