Safe Sleep Specialist (30 hours/week)

The Safe Sleep Specialist will provide comprehensive, holistic, and family centered support services to children and families. As a Safe Sleep Specialist, you will provide ongoing training on safe sleep, breast-feeding, and other assigned topics to Brightpoint home visiting, doula, and Early Childhood Center staff and program participants throughout Northern regions served by Brightpoint. The Safe Sleep Specialist also collaborates with staff at partner agencies to promote safe sleep practices.

Candidate qualifications:

• Associates Degree in social services, early childhood or related field required. Bachelor’s Degree in social services preferred.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in an unrelated field or an Associate’s Degree must have at least two years of relevant professional experience working with children and families.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Job details:

• Compensation: Range starts at $20.19. Offers are commensurate with experience and  bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates may receive additional financial compensation.
• Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here)
• Location: Hybrid (Rockford office/1-2 days work from home) 
• Schedule: Full-time (30 hours per week), hourly; general business hours with some flexibility required for special projects and evening/weekend recruitment events and flexibility for trainings.
• Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
