Job description

Position: Real Estate Paralegal

Location: Woodbury, NY (Long Island)

Work Schedule: Hybrid - 4 days in-office and Fridays remote

Compensation: \(60,000 - \)70,000 (negotiable based on experience)

We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Real Estate Paralegal to become an integral part of a distinguished 1031 Exchange firm based in Woodbury, New York. This role is pivotal in supporting a dynamic team of tax professionals and attorneys, facilitating essential real estate transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of 1031 exchange regulations to assist in transaction processing.
  • Collaborate effectively with the sales team and clients to secure engagements.
  • Prepare and coordinate exchange documentation with clients and their advisors.
  • Efficiently manage a high volume of transactions.
  • Maintain an organized calendar to monitor critical deadlines and follow up as necessary.
  • Engage in comprehensive communication—both verbal and written—with clients, their representatives, and other parties involved in transactions.
  • Ensure client files are current, manage escrow accounts, and provide necessary administrative support.
  • Confirm wire disbursements with clients and third-party recipients.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of paralegal experience, ideally within the realms of real estate, taxation, or financial services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent time management abilities with a capacity for multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset complemented by outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • A robust work ethic is essential.
  • Familiarity with tax laws or real estate principles is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Qualifications
