Job Title: Loan Closer (Mortgage) - Remote | WFH

Position Overview

As a Loan Closer, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring the precise and efficient closing of mortgage loan files while maintaining an exceptional standard of customer service. You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of essential documents, collaborating with various stakeholders, and possessing a comprehensive understanding of the loan process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare closing documents based on final underwriting approval, ensuring both quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with title companies to confirm loan closings and validate final figures, ensuring efficient communication.
  • Collaborate with Settlement Agents to finalize loan fees and meticulously review all pre-closing documents for correctness.
  • Ensure compliance with mortgage regulations, preparing necessary disclosures accordingly.
  • Manage the loan pipeline to ensure timely issuance of initial disclosures and redisclosures.
  • Prepare initial disclosure packages and manage loan estimate redisclosures.
  • Conduct audits to verify the accuracy and compliance of all loan disclosures.
  • Validate incoming service fees and check for variances against standardized APR charges.
  • Address and troubleshoot closing issues, coordinating effectively with Loan Officers.
  • Monitor and adhere to closing dates and final review deadlines to meet internal processing goals.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of loan products to enhance efficiency, including special programs like VA and FHA.
  • Provide backup support for opening loan files within compliance timelines and assist with post-closing error resolutions.

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Closing Disclosure preparation, TRID regulations, APR and non-APR fees, and key mortgage-related regulations including RESPA and REG Z.
  • Proficiency in processing software, particularly Encompass.
  • Deep understanding of the complete loan process and various mortgage products.
  • Exceptional customer service skills complemented by a collaborative and positive attitude.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of three years of experience in mortgage-related roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote and onsite responsibilities based on management approval and business needs.
