Job Overview

As a Licensed Prior Authorization Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in the evaluation of prior authorization requests, determining medical necessity in accordance with established clinical guidelines. Your expertise will directly influence the quality of care provided to patients and their families, ensuring that they receive exceptional support throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess requests for prior authorization and establish medical necessity based on clinical standards and organizational policies.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to enhance satisfaction levels among patients and their families.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and support.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to navigate complex clinical scenarios.
  • Proficient critical thinking skills to effectively evaluate and respond to patient needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic computer proficiency with a willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • A current and unrestricted license to practice as a PT, OT, or ST in the State of Texas, in compliance with state licensure laws.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in your respective field, ideally with pediatric patients in a clinical, hospital, or agency setting.
