Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Prior Authorization Pharmacist to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. This position is integral to the healthcare process, providing essential support in processing authorization requests while ensuring compliance with established service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Technicians and Nurses to accurately process authorization requests and gather the necessary clinical or medical information for assessments.
  • Ensure timely communication of case decisions to physicians, health plans, employers, patients, and other healthcare professionals, adhering to the approval and denial management processes.
  • Handle inbound calls and manage escalations from physicians or patients related to prior authorization requests.
  • Promote effective communication among team members and external stakeholders, including CVS Caremark, health plans, and employer groups.
  • Stay informed about drug and disease states pertinent to the Specialty Medical programs administered through the Novologix platform.
  • Perform additional related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate collaboration with healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in managing inbound calls and handling escalations efficiently.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical assessment procedures and familiarity with drug and disease states relevant to Specialty Medical programs.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing within your state of residence.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days of employment.
  • Availability for on-call and after-hours duties if required.

Compensation And Benefits

  • The compensation for this role is $53.00 per hour.
