Pumpkin is looking for someone who is looking to take the next step in their pet claims career by joining our team as a pet claims analyst. This individual will have the primary responsibility for handling claims submitted for appeal by customers. In addition, this person will assist the claims management team as needed with claims QA, authority, and other duties as needed.

What You'll Do:
  • Handle low-medium complexity appeals submitted by customers on claims where coverage is in dispute.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training support to pet claims adjusters.
  • Review and action requests for authority from adjusters.
  • Complete quality assurance audits on low-medium complexity open and closed claims files.
  • Collaborate with members of the claims management team to provide insight into claims processes, best practices, and to support the growth of the Pumpkin claims team.

  • What We're Looking For:
  • 2+ years as a veterinary medical professional or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience adjusting pet claims (DVM can substitute for Pet Claims Experience).
  • Current P&C adjuster license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Adaptable and willing to take on new challenges.

  • Bonus Points:
  • Previous experience handling claims appeals and/or claims file audits.
  • Previous leadership experience (not necessarily in claims)

  • The compensation for this position ranges from $21.00-$28.00 (hourly). Compensation may vary outside the listed range, based on a number of factors including but not limited to location, qualifications, performance, skills, and experience. The compensation range listed is just one component of Pumpkin’s total compensation package for employees. Total compensation packages, depending on the position, may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short or long-term incentives. If hired, employees will be in an ‘at-will position’ and Pumpkin reserves the right to modify compensation (as well as any other discretionary payment or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
