Work Location: Hybrid – West Reading, PA coming into the office at least 3-days per week with Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday being set days. Open to remote candidates. Please note: Candidates who live within a 50-mile radius of an established Customers Bank location will be required to be in office on a hybrid basis at least 3 days per week with Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday being set days.
What you’ll do: The Treasury Accountant position is responsible for assisting the VP, Treasury Accounting with performing the daily and monthly accounting operations of the Company’s investment portfolios. This includes entries to record investment transactions, derivative accounting (for both hedging and back-to-back portfolios), account reconciliations, investment roll forwards, and reviews of work performed by 3rd party accounting and valuation service providers. In addition, this role will help with quarter end SEC and Regulatory reporting requirements, external and internal audits, SOX reviews, CECL, and technical accounting memos. The resource will participate in high visibility treasury accounting related ad-hoc type projects.
We are looking for a high energy individual that is extremely flexible and who thrives in a high pressure and deadline intensive environment. Experience with accounting and treasury systems and familiarity complex financial products (such as derivatives CLOs and MBSs) is desirable. The position offers significant potential for growth and advancement in treasury, investment accounting, derivatives, and complex financial products.
What do you need?
Undergraduate degree from accredited university in accounting or finance.
2+ years of related accounting/finance experience, preferable in public accounting, a publicly traded banking or financial services environment.
Basic Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Technology: strong all-around technical and software skills: MS Excel, VBA, Workday/PeopleSoft.
Knowledge of Accounting Operations within a financial institution.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytic skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment.
Knowledge of investments accounting, derivatives, or investment products.
Progress towards a professional designation like a CPA or CFA or FRM.
