Job description

We're seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to help us build a robust, scalable network infrastructure. As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our network infrastructure to support our growing SaaS applications. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of our network infrastructure.

Key about your role

You are at your best when you have automated all our chores away and ready to spend time innovating our platform from a network perspective. Beside the daily maintenance and management of our network infrastructures you will participate in or initiate our change and improvement projects. Projects such as: the transition from NSX to Cisco ACI, selecting and replacing the new network components (switches, firewalls), decommissioning the legacy cluster and most of all designing and improving on our secure and hardened network architecture. 

Within your role you will be expected to work with; Cisco (ASA, ISR, Nexus, ACI) and Nvidia (Mellanox) components, VMware NSX virtualized networking solutions.

Key about you

You are a network engineer who has experience with managing and automating network infrastructures for office automation and software defined data center infrastructures, hosting business applications and SaaS services on a high availability basis.

Security is the backbone of all that we do and a major part of your concerns, our customers rely on us to work safely and you as network engineer hold the key to our front door, security is coded into your DNA.

You have extensive knowledge of and experience with OSPF, BGP, HSRP, VPC, IPSEC VPN, SNAT/DNAT, PBR.

Furthermore, we think it is important that:

  • You have at least a Bèta degree or comparable experience
  • You have solid knowledge of and extensive experience setting up, maintaining and managing network infrastructures.
  • You are a team player and work pro-actively, have a flexible mindset and are client oriented, most of all you keep cool under pressure.
  • You think in challenges instead of in problems and the dynamic environment of a fast growing company is something which attracts you 

We consider it a plus if you have:

  • Knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and/or Windows (Server);
  • Cisco or comparable certification.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll be a vital member of our IT team of 18 professionals, dedicated to maintaining a virtual private cloud environment for our top-tier SaaS applications. Our team operates across The Netherlands and India, with your primary base in our Utrecht office, working alongside 13 colleagues specializing in Networking, Virtualization, Backup, Security, Monitoring, and more.

In this important role, you’ll support an IT infrastructure that serves around 35 major clients in the pension and insurance sectors, impacting millions of customers across Western Europe. Our platform services include Dell and Cisco hardware and a fully virtualized server cluster using the complete VMware suite.

Keylane offers
  • A monthly gross salary between € 5,000 and € 6,000 based on 40 hours per week;
