Your mission
We're looking for an enthusiastic CTO to join our Engineering department (∼50 people across backend, frontend, DevOps, and QA & test automation) and take full responsibility for the overall technology strategy and execution of a SaaS scale-up. In this role, to build and maintain robust, scalable, high-performance web applications, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and guide the growth of the Engineering department, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, empowerment and accountability;
- Ensure the platform architecture can support the scale and flexibility required for growth while managing cloud infrastructure, security, and operational stability;
- Ensure that all products meet the necessary security and regulatory standards, with a strong focus on privacy and data protection;
- Develop and execute a long-term technology roadmap aligned with the company's business objectives;
- Oversee the development of the SaaS platform, working closely with the Product Management to ensure timely delivery of scalable, and innovative features;
- Collaborate with the Project Management to implement Agile methodologies and best practices to streamline development and deployment processes;
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies; drive innovation in products and processes to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role linked to the Engineering dept. of a SaaS (e.g. CTO, Head of Backend, Head of Frontend, Head of DevOps, Head of QA, Head of Information Security, etc.) fostering collaboration, and innovation, and building a high-performance culture;
- Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, dynamic scale-up environment, managing the challenges of rapid business growth and platform scaling;
- Deep understanding of SaaS architecture, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development methodologies, as well as technical expertise in the following: Backend (Ruby/RoR, and Node.js, and PHP), Frontend (JavaScript and Vue.js and React);
- Experience with databases, and API development, as well as, cloud platforms, DevOps, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines;
- Experience leading teams accustomed to working with Agile methodologies.
- Solid soft skills such as the ability to align technical strategies with business goals, while navigating complex trade-offs between product innovation and operational efficiency; excellent problem-solving and data-driven approach; strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Location
At iubenda we believe in full-remote. Accordingly, you will be completely free and entitled to work from wherever you prefer in the world. At the same time in case you prefer to work from an office, at your disposal you have our Italian (Milan and Bologna) and German (Berlin and Hamburg) offices, to allow you to follow a hybrid work model.
