Your challenge:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help build the platform and pipelines to provide a compliant, efficient and scalable data environment at Taxfix to power ML, analytics and reporting.
You will work on different projects across the pillars of providing platform services that enable our ML and AI driven product development, enable high quality data, effective data pipelines and monitoring and ensure our data is maintained in a secure, compliant and cost efficient manner.
The data engineer role we are looking for is one with strong software engineer skills but at the same time knowledge of modern data technologies including Snowflake, Airflow, Segment.io, Vertex AI/Sagemaker, Kubernetes and Terraform. We are also open to new solutions and skills that will enable our goals and you will play an important role in defining the future of our platform; particularly to ensure it can serve ML and AI powered in product experiences as well as existing reporting and analytics needs.
Your team:
You will be delivering and improving our Data and ML Platforms. Your team is part of the Data Organization, which enables everyone in the company to make data-driven decisions, drive business growth and ensure we have the right information to enable ML and automation in our products.
We’re committed to data democratization, scalability, and actionable insights. Within our group we have product analysts, marketing analysts, analytics engineers, reporting analysts, machine learning engineers and data engineers and we work across the whole of Taxfix. The Data Platform team works cross functionally so you can expect to work with other team members and be part of new project teams.
Our team members have different data engineering backgrounds, some of them coming from backend development and some other from other data positions, so the combination of these skills makes it easy to connect with other teams. We can rely on each other to deliver our best and are committed to personal development via knowledge sharing, through mentoring and innovation days.
Your responsibilities and decisions:
You create the platform that makes ingress and egress of data in a fast-paced environment a simple and reliable
You will be responsible for the data and ML infrastructure in Taxfix
You will be responsible to research new technologies that will help the team to achieve the mission goals across data management, analytics and machine learning
You will implement and support our security and compliance policies
You will participate in the data architecture design and decision making process
You will be integral in establishing team-wide standards: excellent documentation, monitoring & alerting, code quality, unit testing, CI + CD
Your profile:
5+ years experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar position
Real world MLOps experience, solid understanding of machine learning workflows
Proven track record of working with Python for Data Engineering around Data Ingestion and Data Quality.
Strong SQL skills and knowledge of Airflow and Docker
Knowledge and experience of data quality and monitoring best practices
Knowledge about the current data engineering tools on the market
Experience working in cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks)
Excitement to work cross-functionally with different specialists
A team player and don’t mind “getting your hands dirty“ to support and mentor others
Solid communication: We constantly work close to different teams in different domains(business, analytics, engineering) so you need to be ready to interact with them
Hands-on experience with infrastructure tools like Terraform, Helm
