Senior Backend Engineer, (Remote, Guadalajara)

Job Overview:

Invitro Capital is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement backend software solutions using Python and related technologies. This role involves developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems. You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic and conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Pacific Time Zone.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement backend software solutions using Python and related technologies.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
• Optimize code for efficiency and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices.
• Identify and troubleshoot software defects and performance issues.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in backend engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and related frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization.
• Proficient understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Understanding of software testing and test-driven development (TDD) principles.
