Carnall Farrar (CF) is a growing management consultancy which works across all aspects of the healthcare sector from supporting the NHS to serving major life science companies. We are passionate about, and experts in, healthcare. Founded in 2013 we have grown over the past 11 years to a core staff of around 70 across consulting, data science and corporate functions. We have a strong reputation in the healthcare sector and are highly regarded both internally and externally for the level of support and development we give our people. As a professional services business, CF has three primary assets - its people, its knowledge and its data and associated products. The CF People Team are consequently central to the success of the business.

Our growth ambitions are significant - we have diversified over the past seven years, and in the future, this is likely to see us establish additional UK bases, as well as considering how we have a more international face. These developments will have significant implications for how we work and the skills we need.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Manage our mid-level Management Consulting and Data Innovation recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience from application to onboarding
  • Formulate and implement recruitment strategies aimed at attracting and securing top-tier talent for a variety of roles
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and explore innovative approaches to target the desired candidate pool effectively
  • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies who may be utilised for support from time to time
  •  Support the People Operations Lead with our strategic resourcing process, ensuring the right people are engaged at the right time
  • Facilitate internal mobility, secondment and shadowing programmes to deliver a wonderful employee experience
  • Communicate and coordinate talent and leadership events and initiatives, including on the day presence
  • Lead our Buddy and Development Sponsor programmes
  • Support the People Operations Lead in delivering our work experience programme
  • Manage our secondment programme to create exciting and interesting opportunities for our team to gain first hand industry experience
  • Identifying learning and development needs through learning analyses for different cohorts across the organisation, creating and managing development pathways that respond to skills and knowledge gaps and support our values
  • Support the management of our external development programme, including our mission to support the majority of our colleagues on the Chartered Management Consultant Award pathway and the associated relationship with the MCA/CMI, utilising Apprenticeships and further developing our Data Innovation Team
  • Assist with budget management for L&D, including managing the apprenticeship levy, contributing to wider People Team budget formation and tracking YTD spending

Requirements

We're not necessarily looking for someone CIPD qualified or with a certain level of education, but we are looking for a collaborative, innovative and friendly People and Talent professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and jumping into the thick of the action, someone who is tech savvy, results oriented and loves delivering work to the highest standards. You will likely have a combination of the following skills and attributes:

 

  • 3+ years prior experience in a People and Talent role with hands on experience of recruitment and talent development within a Professional Services, and ideally Consulting environment
  • You will have the highest levels of attention to detail and will enjoy applying this in fast paced environments
  • You will be a self-starter who is action oriented and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to influence across all levels
  • Data will be your best friend. You will be someone who makes data driven decisions and recommendations to help us achieve our desired people and business outcomes
  • You will understand project management principles and be interested in developing in this area, in order to deliver projects to agreed deadlines

Flexible working

We operate a hybrid-working policy; corporate team members need to be physically together for a minimum of 4 days a week between core office hours of 10am-4pm. Travel to other CF offices in the UK may be required as and when established.
In addition, for up to four weeks a year each member of staff can work entirely virtually.
