Nonprofit & Government Services Leader - WOB 

Position Summary 

Witt O’Brien’s seeks an innovative, motivated, and talented Nonprofit and Government Services Leader to join our organization. The ideal candidate will be able to showcase their experience in nonprofit management, with a deep understanding of the sector’s challenges and opportunities. The responsibilities include: offering strategic advice to clients on cross-agency initiatives; implementing nonprofit capacity-building and performance management strategies; developing, analyzing, and preparing recommendations for utilizing funding sources that reduce administrative burdens; engaging with stakeholders effectively. Responsibilities also include providing oversight of staff on assigned projects.

  • Compensation: Commensurate with experience  
  • Travel: 20%

Essential Job Functions 

  • Spearhead the creation, execution, and oversight of a new service line that amplifies non-profit program management and capacity building for both new and existing clients and partnerships
  • May work with project management to lead a team of consultants or subject matter experts
  • Working as a team leader or senior team member, ensures the accomplishment of project activities and objectives
  • Such projects would cover a broad range of consulting services, include strategy development, program planning, auditing and evaluation, executive management, coaching, policy and regulation development
  • Ensure programs meet all federal, state, and local regulations and requirements
  • Provides client-facing technical consulting on program policy and procedures
  • Liaise with local elected officials, as well as leaders from federal, state, non-profit, community-based organizations, and related stakeholders
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process for nonprofit services, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting initiatives that enhance the practice’s competitive edge
  • Oversee the delivery of high‐quality services through the facilitation of cross‐departmental collaboration and strong, internal communications
  • Conduct and/or support the client with community outreach and engagement
  • Coordinate with other Witt O’Brien’s team members to maximize community cost recovery, optimize recovery program design, and facilitate efficient and effective delivery of services for the client

Minimum Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. As an alternative, two (2) years of experience working in assigned technical discipline may be substituted for one (1) years of education (i.e., eight (8) years of relevant work experience is equal to a Bachelor’s degree)
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in nonprofit management, demonstrating a deep understanding of the sector’s challenges and opportunities
  • Minimum 8 years of managerial experience in city government, preferably related to working with nonprofit health and human services providers
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading cross-agency initiatives and implanting nonprofit capacity building strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory information to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to build consensus among diverse city, state and external stakeholders
  • Strong prioritization and time-management skills to balance ongoing responsibilities with urgent requests.
  • Ability to plan as necessary to effectively and efficiently meet position objectives
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality compliance services that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to plan for development and maintenance of each client account
  • Maintain account and company information in an organized manner
  • Effectively able to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must be willing to work hours as necessary to meet business development and project implementation goals

Preferred Job Requirements 

  • Master’s degree in relevant field from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Relevant professional certification (e.g. PMP)
