Your missions

In a nutshell

As a Product Manager at Lyssna, you'll be responsible for driving the delivery of key projects across our product roadmap. You'll work with a cross-functional Product team of PMs, engineers and designers to build a product that is enriched by experimentation and is driven by providing incremental value to both customers and the business. You'll also work with the Group Product Manager and CPO to help translate Lyssna’s product strategy into a clear roadmap to ensure that the team is working towards the same vision.

Who we are

Lyssna is a remote UX research platform that helps organisations deliver products that perfectly fit their customers’ needs. We empower designers to engage directly with users and get rich feedback, quickly and easily. We’ve been championing human-centred design practices for over 10 years with big and small customers including Asana, Google, Metalab, UsTwo, Unilever and Zendesk.

Who we’re looking for

  • You have strong experience in product delivery, with a track record of taking multiple, often concurrent projects from discovery through to launch
  • You love working closely and collaboratively with engineers and designers to understand and solve for customer problems by building intuitive, beautiful and functional products
  • You are great at making fast, smart decisions to keep projects moving forward (and involving the right people in these decisions)
  • You are the type to “get stuff done” and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • You enjoy working with all teams across the company — Product, Marketing, Sales, Support — and know how to tailor your communications to each team so that they can do their jobs to grow the product

Picture yourself in the role

If you were here for this month, you would have:

  • Kicked off a new project by collaborating with engineering and design leads to facilitate a cross-functional team discovery workshop, with the goal of creating a shared understanding of customer needs and painpoints, identifying opportunities, and deciding on next steps as a team.
  • Been a key driving force in the build phase of a new feature, partnering with the Product team to constantly test, review, prioritise and enhance the feature, while working with Marketing, Sales and Support teams to prepare for the go-to-market launch.
  • Jumped into a huddle with a few Product team members to jam on a complex problem to come up with a solution, whether it be related to design, business logic, outcomes from a technical spike, pricing strategy or setting up an automated beta program.
  • Reviewed quarterly roadmap plans with the Group Product Manager and CPO and provided insights and inputs into discussions around strategic and roadmap planning for the next quarter or year.
  • Talked to customers at different stages of the product development lifecycle, whether it be discovery, during testing and beta, or post-launch to get their feedback and gather insights, whether that be via email, interviews, surveys, usability tests.
  • Led fortnightly backlog refinement and cycle planning sessions with the scrum teams, where the team discusses and prioritises a mix of major feature work, BAU enhancements, bug fixes and dev initiatives. You would have also reflected on the last cycle and celebrated wins as a team at our regular retrospectives.

Perks and benefits

  • A work life balance that fits your needs. Team members can choose between 4 day work weeks, 9 day fortnights or full time hours.
  • A share in our success. All team members get a percentage of profits every quarter and a meaningful equity stake in the business.
  • Generous parental leave. We support growing families with 14 weeks of fully paid leave for primary carers and 6 weeks for secondary carers.
  • An investment in your development. We offer AU$1,500 per year for you to spend on books, courses and events along with 6 paid Level Up days.
  • Everything you need to do your best work. Whether you’re working from home, a co-working space or our office, we’ll cover your gear, office rent and furniture.
