Your missions

Company Description

We are looking for six Digital Production Editors to join our newly formed Content Hub. This is a fantastic opportunity to use our in-house AI, Guten, to create content for multiple sites, including the Mirror, Express, Star, Manchester Evening News, Daily Record, Liverpool Echo, Birmingham Live and more.

You will play a key role in amplifying content that has been created by our Content Hub and brand teams, using AI to meet our brand guidelines. You will be writing, headlining, managing and editing content, ensuring audience targets are delivered every month.

The Content Hub is home to around 300 journalists from across our business and powered by our amazing brands, delivering brilliant content that drives engagement, impact and results.

So, who are we?

We are Reach Plc, you might not have heard of us but we have probably met without you even realising it. We are home to the UK and Ireland’s most iconic digital platforms, magazines and newspapers. From the Mirror, Daily Express and OK!, to our regional titles such as the Liverpool Echo, BirminghamLive and the Manchester Evening News (plus lots more), our brands and the stories we cover are as varied as our people. We help all kinds of people share experiences through our stories because we believe this is what makes us human.

Oh, and we should probably also mention that with a monthly readership of 47 million people, Reach is the largest commercial publisher in the UK. At Reach, not only will you feel better understood, you will also feel you understand other people better too.

We are happy to consider applications on a flexible working basis, and will always aim to accommodate requests where possible.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.

Job Description

What will the role involve?

  • Content Creation: Amplifying existing content from our Content Hub verticals and brand teams, using AI to produce multiple different versions. Rewriting and reworking copy and headlines to engage readers and to reach as many people as possible, across several platforms
  • Publication: Publishing content on multiple websites, ensuring Reach digital publishing standards are met at all times.
  • Distribution: Highlighting content for inclusion on homepages and in audience engagement channels, such as social platforms and newsletters, as and when required.
  • Engaging Readers: Building communities online and in real life to share stories with once published, and engage with readers about those stories
  • Editing and Proofreading: Reviewing and editing articles for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and style consistency. Ensuring all content adheres to our editorial guidelines.
  • Ensuring IPSO standards are met at all times, and every piece of content is legally sound
  • Utilising AI tools, in line with Company policies, to optimise content creation, improve accuracy and efficiency, and deliver engaging articles for the vertical that resonate with our audience
  • This role will involve working shifts on a rota basis including some weekends and evenings so a flexible approach is required.
