Job description

This role is remote, however, being located in the northeast is best due to the travel. The location of the majority of our plants are located in the northeast. Minimum travel is 50%.

The Engineering Team Manager is responsible for partnering with Plant Managers and their teams to coordinate and drive successful project execution. The incumbent provides strategic assistance and project management guidance to support the improvement of safety, productivity, quality, capacity utilization and to achieve capital project success.

Nature & Scope

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, North America the incumbent will be working on-site with plant Engineering Managers and manufacturing teams to deliver productivity improvements and to ensure capital project success. As the functional expert you will champion the safe and successful implementation of capital projects. This is a multi-plant responsibility and extensive travel is required to fulfill the role.

Specific Job Duties

  • Drive the successful implementation of capital projects and productivity improvements to ensure that they are completed safely, on time and within budget.
  • Partner and regularly consult with the Director of Engineering, VP of Manufacturing, plants, equipment suppliers and third-party contractors to leverage best practices throughout the corporation and to develop effective standard solutions to common problems.
  • Oversee process engineering and maintenance across multiple Prysmian plants.

  • Strong leadership skills - can lead a team of individuals at various levels within the organization through coaching and mentoring
  • Has successfully managed large, complex projects within budgeted resources to completion with outstanding results
  • Able to implement a plan and develop necessary support at all levels of the organization - needs to be a superior implementer with hands on engagement
  • Excellent developer of people; able to achieve results through others
  • Innovative, fast paced manager with a proven track record of results
  • Outstanding communications and presentation skills
  • 10+ years’ experience, industrial manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 50 % travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's ME, EE, IE or similar engineering degree; masters degree a plus
  • 10+ years’ experience with working in a manufacturing environment on productivity improvements
  • Extensive project management, team facilitation and leadership experience.
  • Wire and Cable industry experience required
