Job Description Summary
The SVP Managed Assets plays a vital role in providing leadership to the managed assets department. This includes supervising, coaching, mentoring, and developing a team of associates, shaping, and maintaining the efficient management of the company’s managed assets. Must be highly knowledgeable of all aspects of the leasing business from origination through maturity including repossession/resale/litigation/bankruptcy. Knowledgeable of lease management systems. Strong communication skills with internal and external and both writing and interpersonal. Must have attention to detail and able to manage complex operations and asset management procedure. Ability to multitask and work under pressure under time constraint.
What You’ll Do
- Optimize revenue through maximizing remarketing inventory, managing the end of lease process, forecasting, and keeping accurate records.
- Developing plans to collect overdue payments, establish goals and targets for the collection of payments.
- Establishing a consistent strategy for executing payment plans and negotiating settlement agreements.
- Employ, train, and develop team members.
- Work closely with Credit, bank stakeholders and Sales teams on equipment valuations, collection strategies, end of lease terms, and remarketing of the assets upon lease expiration or repossession.
- Responsible for working directly with WSF’s servicer for reconciliation of payment applications, 3rd party vendor remittances, accuracy and timeliness of rebooking and overall record keeping.
- Manage multiple 3rd party servicers for consistency and accuracy.
- Identify and develop relationships with external providers of lawyering, repossession, appraisal, remarketing, collections, and loss recovery / collection services.
- Work with 3rd party providers to arrange inspections and appraisals.
- Accurately document all costs associated with the managed assets process.
- Develop and maintain a data base for collateral appraisers, lawyers, inspectors, repossession agencies, storage and skip tracing, and external appraisers. Prepare reports for management.
Knowledge/Skills/Background/Experience
- 10+ years of experience in collections and managed assets
- Knowledge of collection laws and regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field a plus
- Deep understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance standards
