Job Summary
Epiq Project Managers oversee and contribute to project execution for Remediation and/or Class Action administration work. Project Managers are the face of Epiq operations to our clients. Internally, they coordinate with our sales representatives, data analysts, web developers, call center supervisors/managers, disbursement specialists, claims analysts, and a host of other personnel to ensure project deliverables are met. The position requires considerable judgment and latitude in performing job duties, with minimal to moderate direct supervision. The Project Manager determines key milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines, as well evaluates and mitigates issues, risks, capacity and budget needs and monitors and reports on overall project progress.
This position will oversee one or more Project Coordinators in the Client Services department, and potentially oversee one or more, Supervisors, and/or Project Specialists.
Job Responsibilities
- Project Execution & Resource Management – Continually monitor, evaluate, and guide project staff to meet project deliverables on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Effectively delegate tasks and duties to the project team, and ensure assignments are completed on time and within scope. Must also possess the ability to complete tasks related to projects as needed.
- Staff Development – Consistently apply performance standards and training to develop staff and build a high performing team of industry experts, passionate people managers, critical thinkers, dedicated client advisors, and strong problem solvers. Provide coaching and guidance to the team members about every aspect of the project so that the team members can understand their tasks fully and act on them efficiently. Identify key strengths and abilities in direct reports and create plans for professional development. Provide timely feedback for corrective action.
- Project Financial Requirements – Provide timely and accurate budget/estimate review and management; monthly revenue forecasting and monthly invoice review. Ensure that projects are within scope and manage client communication when necessary.
- Process Improvements – PMs should consistently be looking for ways to improve Epiq’s processes and procedures to deliver services more profitably to our clients while enhancing efficiency with our internal partners.
- Economic Objectives – PMs are expected to meet billable goals and ensure that similar targets are met for their direct reports.
- Training – In partnership with our Training Team, develop training curriculum and facilitate training classes as needed.
- Workforce Management – Ensure the team is adequately staffed by creating schedules, monitoring forecasted work, and ensuring adherence to schedules. Reviewing and approving time off requests and daily time entries ensuring accuracy. Analyzing work produced compared to time billed to ensure it aligns with expectations.
Job Requirements
- Extensive project management and client experience is required.
- Bilingualism, French and English fluency.
- Strong technical orientation, excellent computer skills, exceptional planning and organizational skills, critical thinking and a keen attention to detail are all required.
- A combination of practical and intellectual skills including but not limited to: the ability to rapidly shift and adapt to different tasks that vary between complex analyses, hands-on projects, project management and team management; proactive project planning with an eye for necessary trade off’s contingency planning; successfully manage multiple and shifting priorities; delegation to team members to ensure work is delivered on time, within scope and meets quality standards.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to clearly articulate complex project details to both clients and internal partners.
- Candidates with a certain level of comprehension of medical, legal and financial documentation will be strongly preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in management or other relevant industry experience is preferred.
- A Juris Doctorate (JD) or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or similar advanced degree is preferred.
