Job description

Description

At Plum, we're on a mission to maximise wealth for all. We’re making saving money effortless and turning investing into something everyone can do.

Our journey began back in 2017, when we became one of the first to use artificial intelligence and automation to simplify personal finance. Fast forward to today, and we've already helped people save £2 billion across 10 European markets.

Named the UK's fastest-growing fintech in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, our success is down to the passion and dedication of our diverse team. Based in our London, Athens and Nicosia offices, 180 talented people work together to empower people to do more with their money. And now, the team is growing!

The role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Partnerships & Strategy team. As a Lead, you will spearhead key initiatives, managing relationships with banking partners and leading the development of negotiation strategies in the EU.

You will ensure smooth information flow across teams, aligning commercial priorities with strategic goals. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving the best outcomes for the business and delivering high-impact partnerships.

Job Description
  • Use your sector knowledge and industry relationships to proactively identify, scope, and drive new opportunities for Plum and our customers in Europe
  • To deepen our infrastructure in the EU: Identify the most appropriate way to grow Plum in key European markets such as France. If we need licences, you will need to manage the process end-to-end: understand the regulations, prepare, coordinate and submit the application, and get the regulatory buy-in as well as support the fulfilment of any other local requirements for the licence applications.
  • To build new relationships with relevant financial institutions in France: Take ownership of maintaining and improving existing relationships with banks and other financial institutions. You will lead commercial and relationship discussions with partners to ensure we offer the most sustainable and competitive service.
  • Manage an end-to-end process: find the right potential banking partners, pitch Plum as a client, negotiate the commercial agreements and contracts, explain our operation and compliance processes and operationalise the partnership.
  • Collaborate across teams (finance, operations, product, compliance etc.) to deliver and build better products and experiences for our customers. Your contribution will be mainly from the partnerships, regulatory and operational banking partnerships point of view.
  • Lead complex, strategic projects independently, making high-impact decisions that align with organisational goals.
  • Effectively balance short-term and long-term priorities, managing multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform decisions, and develop strategies to maximise business opportunities.

This role would suit someone who:
  • Have experience working in a similar role at a fintech in France
    • Ideally you have knowledge in launching wealth products in France and other EU countries
  • Are able to independently negotiate the most ideal terms with a clear product vision and understanding in mind and you can figure out the ideal operational and commercial process with every new partner.
  • Are familiar with how corporate banks, payments and financial institutions work and their decision makers.
  • Are excellent at creating and managing external relationships, constantly creating opportunities to improve them.
  • Have an understanding of different financial licensing frameworks and requirements.
  • Have an interest in AML/KYC and risk controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including C-Suite.
  • Happy to work independently and flexibly within a fast-moving environment.
  • You are business fluent in French.
