Your missions

We are seeking a knowledgeable and multifaceted Technical Trainer to join our US College Digital Solutions team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in instructional design and a deep understanding of online learning platforms in the higher education market. The Technical Trainer will develop and deliver programs that enable college instructors to optimize Sage’s learning platforms and course materials in their classes. The Technical Trainer will collaborate with internal teams to ensure that training materials and reference documentation are elegant, effective, and high quality.

Essential job functions and responsibilities:

Customer Training Curriculum Development

· Develop training programs and documentation for users of Sage digital learning platforms.

· Build training materials, workshops, and online resources tailored to the needs of college-level instructors.

· Ensure that training and support content is pedagogically sound and aligned with institutional goals.

· Deliver engaging and effective training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one sessions using a variety of instructional methods (e.g. webinars, asynchronous course modules, pre-recorded video sessions, etc.)

· Develop assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. Collect and analyze feedback from participants to continually improve training content and methods.

· Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, evaluations, and performance outcomes.

Internal Stakeholder Training Program Development

· Develop and deliver customized programs to meet the specific training needs of internal Sage departments including sales, marketing, and editorial.

· Work closely with team members to understand and address unique training requirements.

· Build evaluation tools for cross-functional department managers to assess their staff members’ comprehension of key learning objectives.

· Serve as internal subject matter authority on how Sage digital learning platforms integrate with major LMS platforms (Blackboard, Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle.)

Faculty Support

· Provide effective technical support to faculty members for various systems, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), classroom technology, and Sage digital platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

· During peak volume times, meet with instructors virtually to provide technical support. Diagnose problems, escalate complex issues as needed, and follow up to ensure resolution. Maintain a high level of customer service and responsiveness.

· As needed, host online customer onboarding sessions with individual faculty members.

· Collect, organize and distribute user feedback on Sage digital platforms with internal teams.

Training Documentation Creation and Curation

· Build multimedia training materials such as videos, animations, infographics, interactive modules, and eLearning content. Ensure materials are visually appealing, informative, and aligned with instructional objectives.

· Use graphic design, video editing, and animation software to create and edit training materials. Coordinate all aspects of media production, from initial concept through final delivery.

· Leverage applicable tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia) to develop interactive content. Stay updated on emerging tools and technologies to improve content development.

· Stay updated on changes to Learning Management Systems and Sage products and drive changes to training materials to ensure ongoing accuracy.

Qualifications and Education

Education and Experience

Required

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with completion of some college-level coursework.

· At least 2 years of work experience with one or more major Learning Management System (LMS) -- Blackboard, Moodle, D2L, Canvas.

· Proven track record of building effective training programs for academic customers.

· Microsoft Office Proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

· Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments to achieve goals and within set deadlines.

· Ability to work effectively within required timelines.

· Project Management experience.

Preferred

· Experience leading customer-facing training sessions both in person and virtually

· Technical writing experience (process documentation and technical features)

· Experience with adaptive learning and assessment platforms

· Instructional design experience in online content development

· Proficiency in Captivate, Camtasia, and video editing tools

· Capable of producing and editing high quality customer-facing video content
