Data QA Engineer at Golabs

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer with over 6 years of expertise in data engineering, specifically with Airflow, dbt, Python, AWS, and Snowflake or Databricks. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success, demonstrated by good tenure and success stories in previous roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build sophisticated data pipelines using dbt, Airflow, and Snowflake (or Databricks), focusing on performance optimization and ensuring data integrity through tools like Great Expectations.
• Lead architectural design sessions for the modern data stack, creating solutions that seamlessly integrate with our technology ecosystem, which includes Snowflake (or Databricks), Airflow, dbt, Great Expectations, and AWS data services.
• Collaborate with data science and product management teams to design, rapidly prototype, and productize new data product ideas and capabilities that drive innovation and efficiency.
• Address complex challenges by developing simple, efficient solutions with a focus on reliability, scalability, quality, and cost-effectiveness across our platforms.
• Build and maintain processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata management, and workload management, ensuring seamless data operations.
• Work closely with the team to perform root cause analysis and audit both internal and external data and processes, providing insights that help answer critical business questions.

Qualifications:

• Masters Degree or a B.S. degree with relevant industry experience in math, statistics, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in Dimensional Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and Big Data environments.
• 6+ years in a pivotal Software/Data Engineering role with deep exposure to modern data stacks, including Snowflake (or Databricks), Airflow, dbt, and AWS.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for executing complex data operations, customizing ETL/ELT processes, and performing advanced data transformations.
• Expertise in establishing data quality assurance frameworks, particularly using Great Expectations.
• Strong experience with AWS services and infrastructure, with the ability to optimize data processes within the cloud environment.
• Proven experience working directly with data analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical data engineering solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in an agile, entrepreneurial start-up environment.
• Strong prioritization skills, with a focus on delivering high-impact results.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, coupled with a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
• Advanced English Level (Upper B2+)
