Job description

This is a remote position.

Role Name: Bookkeeper

Schedule:

  • Part-time, 20-30 hours per week (4-6 hours per day), Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (can set preferred schedule in the interview)

Job Description

Dive into a fast-paced financial environment where your expertise will directly impact the company’s financial health. This short-term project, with potential for ongoing work, offers a unique opportunity to tackle a significant backlog of reconciliations using Xero. You’ll work with multiple financial platforms, streamline processes, and play a crucial role in bringing the company’s financial reporting up to date. Your skills will be instrumental in setting the stage for improved financial management and decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Process a backlog of 1500 reconciliations in Xero, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage bank feeds from Barclays and CAF bank, integrating data seamlessly into the accounting system
  • Handle complex transactions from PayPal and batched Stripe payments
  • Quickly adapt to and optimize the company’s chart of accounts
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports to support business decisions
  • Implement robust financial controls to enhance accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency


Requirements
  • Qualified bookkeeper or equivalent certification
  • Proven track record with Xero accounting software
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting practices and regulations
  • Expert-level skills in bank reconciliations and multi-platform payment processing
  • Experience with PayPal, Stripe, and other payment gateways
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Exceptional time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • English communication skills 
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing own schedule
  • Availability for 20-30 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM UK time
  • Any UK experience is a strong advantage, if not, ability to convince in an interview that you can learn basic UK accounting for bookkeeping
