YOU

The Business Development - Software (BDS) will be responsible for implementing, optimizing, through real world engagements, and implementing sales processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of a sales team. This role requires a deep understanding of sales strategies, data analysis, and process improvement methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

The BDS is responsible for refining, and managing sales processes to ensure the sales team operates at peak efficiency. This role involves analyzing current sales workflows, identifying bottlenecks, implementing new processes, and continuously optimizing existing ones. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, process improvement, and data analysis.

Sales Process Developer:

Sales Playbook Optimization: (40%)

Generate new business leveraging Sales Playbooks

Continuously monitor and evaluate sales processes to identify areas for improvement.

Utilize data analytics to track performance metrics and assess the impact of process changes.

Implement best practices in sales operations to streamline workflows and reduce inefficiencies.

Sales Playbook Implementation: (20%)

Implement standardized sales processes across the organization.

Collaborate with sales leadership to align processes with overall business objectives.

Implement workflows that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team.

Documentation, Implementation & Training: (20%)

Create detailed process documentation and maintain up-to-date records.

Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for the sales team on new processes and systems.

Implement Sales Playbook at the desired level

Ensure that all team members are fully equipped to follow the standardized sales processes.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting: (15%)

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales processes and track progress against them.

Provide regular reports to sales leadership on process performance and suggest data-driven improvements.

Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for further process optimization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: (5%)

Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and product teams to ensure alignment of sales processes with broader company initiatives.

Act as a liaison between sales and other departments to ensure smooth handoffs and communication.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ sales experience in software and/or related products  
  • 3 years’ experience in residential construction, Sales, operations, estimation, or purchasing  
  • Experience with residential Digital Solutions 
  • Knowledge of residential codes, purchasing practices, activities, processes, construction sequencing & trade scheduling 
  • Communication: Ability to communicate software & service offerings via verbal, written & presentation skills. This also includes the explicit needs of the customer’s decisions to internal team for new business or to continue fostering inside sales. 
  • Customer focus: Quickly and effectively, solve customer problems and maintain productive customer relationships. Readily adjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing customer needs. Recognize potentially adverse customer reactions and develop better alternatives. 
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to interpret multiple disciplines & specialties within a construction document set 
  • Problem/Solving Critical Thinking: Ability to quickly learn, interpret and discuss a new prospect’s estimation protocol, processes & procedures 
  • Presentation Skills: Captivating presentation skills and sales ability to step a prospect through a story 
  • Computer/Software: Proficient computer skills with the aptitude to investigate unfamiliar systems and mine existing databases into a shareable format (.csv, .xlsx,). Including an understanding on how BIM and 2D Estimation can help establish what "critical inputs" are required from the BIM or 2D takeoffs. 
  • Teamwork: Build and sustain cooperative working relationships as a contributor member of a high performing team

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 50% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is open to remote.

Pay
$102,300 – $208,600 / year

* Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
