Description

As legal and judicial agencies move towards a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions stands at the forefront of providing transcription services across various industries. We are seeking experienced legal/judicial contractors to join our team. This is a 100% remote opportunity for independent contractors.

The work involves transcribing depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. Candidates must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, familiarity with legal terminology, and possess strong grammar skills. You will be responsible for processing audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce accurate verbatim transcripts.

Independent contractors will enjoy the flexibility of setting their own schedules, with support available from our in-office team. Opportunities are available 24/7/365, and those with weekend availability are particularly encouraged to apply.

Skill Requirements

  • Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription is required.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
  • Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in typing, both in speed and accuracy.
  • Capability to process potentially sensitive audio/text content.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology.
  • Court reporting students will also be considered.
