Job Description

The dynamic and results-driven Senior Business Development Manager will have a focus on Managed Vision Care. In this role, there is a high level of focus on identifying and cultivating business opportunities within the vision care industry, with a specific emphasis on growing business overall and more specifically in managed vision care programs.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Develop, implement, and shape effective hypothesis and strategies to expand our presence in the Managed Vision Care market. Must be able to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Negotiate and create compelling, tailored proposals and build strategic business cases
  • Provide expert guidance both internally and externally on optical and vision care plan services, offering tailored solutions to meet customers’ specific needs.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of vision care programs while ensuring seamless coordination with insurance providers, employers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Remain current on optical products, lenses, frames, and technology trends to advise clients on the best choices for their vision requirements.
  • Ensure that all managed vision care programs comply with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams and clients on optical products, services, and managed vision care processes.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with vision care plan counterparts, address concerns, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the quality of managed vision care services.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate technology solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of managed vision care operations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in optical and vision care plan sector
  • Partner with the Marketing department to conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities within the Managed Vision Care sector.


Travel:

  • Travel required – :30% of time (may include weekends).


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 10-15 years in Healthcare/Medical/ Vision Care plans.
  • Must have a multi-faceted understanding of the managed vision care industry, including trends, regulations, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Proven experience in understanding optical services and managed vision care space.
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines related to vision care/ managed vision care.
  • Experience in cross functional problem solving and display strong team leadership.
  • P&L management and accountability experience
  • Strong track record with demonstrated abilities to think strategically and drive favorable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
  • Ability to create strategic partnerships on behalf of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to present, communicate and engage at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced skill level preferred in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, preferably in managed vision care or a related healthcare field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.


Work Environment:

  • Work remotely from home office
  • On average 30% travel requirement (may fluctuate/increase to meet business demands)

  • Degree in Optometry, Ophthalmology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field would be a plus
