Job Title: PBM Prior Authorization Pharmacist

Location: Remote (Anywhere in the U.S.)

Compensation: $53.00 per hour

Job Overview

As a PBM Prior Authorization Pharmacist, you will be a critical member of our dedicated healthcare team, ensuring that patients receive timely access to essential medications. Your role will involve the meticulous review and processing of prior authorization requests in adherence to established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and process prior authorization requests with precision and thoroughness.
  • Respond to inquiries on the 'Pharmacist' line, prioritizing escalated matters and serving as the final authority on all prior authorization denials.
  • Manage incoming faxes and ensure comprehensive documentation of interactions.
  • Effectively address client exceptions and maintain updated reference materials to provide the best support possible.
  • Ensure the accurate processing and upkeep of all prior authorization documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to refine your skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) and prior authorization processes.
  • Strong communication abilities for managing high-volume calls effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail for accurate prior authorization processing.
  • Proficient in maintaining organized documentation.
  • Ability to keep reference materials current for optimal information access.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) and prior authorization is essential.
  • Experience in a call center environment or managing high-call volumes is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is mandatory; a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) is preferable.
  • An active pharmacist license in the state of residence, without restrictions, is essential.
