Job description

Want to join the world's No. 2 in wines & spirits and work among convivial teams? Pernod Ricard is looking for a Commercial Excellence Intern for 6 months from January to June 2025. You will be based at the Island, our office in central Paris (Saint Lazare Train Station, Paris 8).

D-STAR is a Pernod Ricard digital product, enriched with data science and machine learning, used to provide sales teams across the globe with the right actionable insights and recommendations, to deploy the right resources, at the right time, and in the right accounts.

D-STAR is also a key component of the Group’s Commercial Excellence approach, aiming to build the sales teams of the future. As such, the Global Commercial Excellence team purpose is to empower markets to achieve excellence in execution and improve ways-of-working through various tangible initiatives, including but not limited to D-STAR, to gain a competitive advantage, beat the market and deliver customer satisfaction.

Your key missions:

1. You will assist the D-STAR Product Team in their daily activities.

  • You will support the D-STAR Product team, and specifically D-STAR Commercial Excellence Managers, in day-to-day activities.
  • You will prepare content (memos, presentations, analyses, …) for key meetings and agile rituals.
  • You will help run certain rituals (representing the Commercial Excellence Manager), especially sprint grooming sessions, ‘Run’ mode monthly meetings with market teams, …
  • You will assist Commercial Excellence Managers in the definition of user stories (features) and in the backlog management process.
  • You will monitor solution user adoption and liaise with markets to identify potential corrective actions if needed.
  • You will drive discussions and investigations on specific initiatives linked to delivery or product discovery.
  • You will help gather information to help Commercial Excellence Managers prioritize initiatives based on value/effort scoring.

2. You will help connect D-STAR Product initiatives with other functions or Commercial Excellence streams.

  • You will provide assistance and coordination on certain specific initiatives:
    • D-STAR Global Newsletter.
    • Connections between D-STAR and SFA integration streams (NEO, Convivio, …)
    • Help drive interactions with other Digital Acceleration teams, especially other Product Owners.
    • D-STAR communication roadmap.
    • Coordination with other Commercial Excellence streams to facilitate discussions and collect information.

  • You have previous professional experience in a tech, consulting, or multinational company within a complex matrix organization.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), and capacity to deliver content in efficient and agile manner.
  • You are familiar with Agile methodologies and tools.
  • You are able to work in a multicultural team.
  • You are fluent in English, French is a plus.

Some nice to have:

  • You have experience in digital product ownership and business-oriented software & data science projects.
  • You have understanding on sales processes, particularly in the Consumer Goods industry.
  • You have basic knowledge and understanding of data science/machine learning.

Please note: to apply, you must be able to complete 6 months of internship and have an agreement issued by your school/university.
