5GC and 4G packet core networking is a critical capability of the NIB, providing “Last Mile” space communications.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for 5G Core network functions and services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement highly optimized (in terms of the CPU and the memory utilization) 5GC components
Develop software applications and protocols compliant with 3GPP standards for the deployment of advanced functionalities on embedded systems.
Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of software solutions to meet the demanding requirements of a cutting-edge 5G Core infrastructure in an embedded system environment.
Integrate new features such as network automation, AI/ML-driven capabilities, edge computing support, and IoT connectivity into the 5GC platform tailored for use within embedded systems

Key Skills And Experience

Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++ specifically applied to telecommunications software development on embedded systems.
Experience working with telecommunication protocols including HTTP/2, Diameter, SCTP/IP
Experience working on Agile environments applying DevOps practices for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines within telecommunications domain tailored towards applications running on embedded systems.
Experience with the “zero touch provisioning"
Experience with the high availability platforms (above 5 9s)
