Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Patient Account Representative specializing in Medicare Billing & Follow-up to join our esteemed team. This remote position plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise and timely management of billing and follow-up processes for unpaid Medicare inpatient and outpatient accounts. You will collaborate closely with the Insurance Billing Manager to identify and process write-offs, resolve credit balances, and respond diligently to inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage the billing and follow-up processes for Medicare accounts.
  • Identify appropriate write-offs and effectively resolve credit balances.
  • Timely respond to help letters and inquiries.
  • Consistently meet and surpass productivity targets while adhering to departmental policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in operating a 10-key adding machine, calculator, and personal computer.
  • Strong mathematical abilities coupled with sound decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to multitask and rapidly learn new systems.
  • Proficiency in developing reports and adept use of Excel and Word for appeal submissions.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Medicare billing and follow-up within a hospital setting.
  • Reliable home internet connectivity with a minimum data speed of 100 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up.
