Description

We are hiring a Senior Level Substation Design Engineer for our client in Syracuse, NY. This opportunity is beneficial for those looking for a Remote/Hybrid work environment. Candidates should reside in the Syracuse, NY area and preference will be given to those with strong substation design experience.

As part of a dedicated team of engineers, you will engage in meaningful projects within the Power Delivery Substation Department. Responsibilities

Develop Substation layout drawings including plan and elevations, yard layouts, grounding details, and control building layouts.
Create Substation one lines, three lines, aux AC Power Systems, DC Schematics, and relay panel layouts for new and existing substations.
Perform engineering calculations and prepare reports.
Prepare specifications for substation equipment and components.

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
A professional engineering license (PE) is strongly preferred or the ability to sit for the exam within 6 months.
Advanced Degree is strongly preferred.
10 years of progressive experience in design and engineering with power distribution and/or high voltage substations.
Hands-on experience in AUTOCAD & MicroStation is considered an asset.
Knowledge of IEEE/ANSI standards and electrical distribution systems.
Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Managerial and leadership skills.
Experience on renewable energy projects (Wind, Solar & Energy Storage) will be an asset.
EIT or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of hire.
