A Day in the Life

The Medtronic Brain Modulation business within the Neuromodulation operating unit is the global leader in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapy. The Brain Modulation business is going through an exciting time of rapid innovation and revenue growth. We are hiring a seasoned Principal Program Marketing Specialist - Indication Expansion to drive high-impact multi-channel marketing awareness and education programs and support global commercial launches for expanded DBS indications. The Principal Program Marketing Specialist - Indication Expansion will play a critical role in the strategic development and execution of programs aimed at expanding the indications for MDT DBS products. This position requires a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and cross-functional marketing collaboration to drive successful program outcomes. This person will collaborate with the Product, HCP, Societies and Conferences and Patient marketing teams to develop strategies to expand the number of patients that we can serve across all indications.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Marketing Program Development: Lead the planning, development, and implementation of indication expansion strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regulatory guidelines. These will include marketing programs, messaging, and events that will drive awareness with HCP’s and patients about indications that DBS can serve and treat.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, regulatory, clinical, and sales and marketing teams to ensure effective communication and execution of indication expansion initiatives.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market assessments to identify opportunities for indication expansion and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all programs meet regulatory requirements and industry standards, collaborating with regulatory affairs to prepare necessary documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze program performance metrics, providing regular updates and recommendations for optimization to senior leadership.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of program budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve program goals.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal teams and external partners on new indications and related materials.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.


Nice to Have

  • Experience in medical device healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with market development strategies (Patients and Healthcare professionals is a plus
  • Experience in downstream marketing developing programs and materials for HCP’s
  • Experience working in medical device or pharmaceuticals with products that have one or more indications, especially understanding of regulatory requirements and processes related to indication expansion.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building collaborative relationships.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$112,800.00 - $169,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
