Compensation Range: $25 - 27 per hour

Cella is seeking a freelance Junior Production Designer to join the in-house studio at our client, a well-respected healthcare company.

As a Production Designer, you will be responsible for supporting the graphic design staff in the execution of marketing and internal communications projects for clients. You will support the Production Manager in producing Tier 2 and 3 marketing and internal and external communications collateral, including working with existing templates and assets, ensuring technically accurate and industry standard production-ready artwork to meet production needs for vendor partners. The ideal candidate is a technical expert in developing graphics for digital and print channels, retouching imagery, and preparing final design files and assets.

This position is a long-term hourly contract, workflow-dependent, with fluctuating hours weekly. It is 100% remote, EST preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute design solutions as directed against established creative, or repurpose existing designs and artwork for new uses.
  • Revise and update existing design deliverables.
  • Prepare production-ready files to appropriate production specifications.
  • Responsible for pre-flighting all production files assigned to ensure quality
  • Responsible for quality control to ensure all files contain all correct elements needed for production of final deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance based on project needs/complexity to meet production specifications and standards.
  • Adhere to brand standards.
  • Check files to ensure that all settings are correct including color, image resolution and output settings.
  • Correct all inconsistencies and mistakes in the art file before its release, including typesetting revisions, scaling artwork, photo retouching, correcting vector artwork, color corrections/adjustments and page sequence/imposition revisions.
  • Take direction from Art Directors and Graphic Designers while meeting deadlines on various projects occurring at the same time.
  • Work with print vendors to troubleshoot and problem-solve production issues on files.
  • Ensure all files are correct and final before archiving.
  • Maintain and update images, photos, videos and work products in appropriate asset management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field (required).
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in creative/graphic design or production within an agency or in-house team.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • Adobe Certification in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop (a plus).
  • Experience with HTML/HTML5 (a plus).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
  • Strong understanding of MS Office.
  • Familiarity with Workfront project management tool (a plus).
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality control.
  • Experience working across Mac and Windows platforms.
  • Typographic skills in both print and digital channels.
  • Ability to create high-quality CMYK and RGB images.
  • Knowledge of color separations, Pantone conversions, imposition work, and retouching.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problematic art files.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to manage and prioritize multiple quick-turn projects in a fast-paced environment.
