Job Purpose: 
 

This position is to direct the sales activities for TruStage manufactured Annuity products (MEMBERS® Annuities) within an assigned geographic territory.  The objective of this role is annuity deposit growth (AUM), a principal TruStage objective.  This position leads the sales activities and efforts of virtual meetings, outbound calling and limited face-to-face distribution through registered representatives in the independent broker dealer (IBD) and bank/credit union channels.

***Territory of coverage is spread out, but covered 80% virtually. The territory would include TX, KY,IN, MT and ID.

***Ideal candidate would live in the Central or Mountain Time Zones and have relevant experience.

Job Responsibilities: 
 

  • Develop new business and maintain existing business relationships by conducting proactive sales activities.
  • Provide current producing financial professionals with up-to-date information on TruStage Annuity products and timely business building sales ideas.
  • Reach out to prospective financial professionals within designated territory to grow TruStage's annuity deposits and market share.
  • Participate in TruStage and independent broker dealer meetings, conferences and events.
  • Stay current on all TruStage Annuity products, as well as economic and market conditions pertinent to the sales of annuity and investment products.
  • Assist representatives in developing higher levels of investment knowledge, communication & sales capabilities, business promotion and train on new product releases through virtual meetings, outbound calling and limited face-to-face meetings.
  • Support financial professional sales efforts by helping conduct client seminars and individual sales presentations (point-of-sale).
  • Manage resources provided by TruStage including the territory marketing and travel and expense budget.
  • This role will be accountable for:
    • Territory Sales Goals
    • Year over year territory growth
    • Virtual and teleconference appointments and other proactive sales activities

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing or 3+ years of related industry experience.
  • 2-4+ years of prior investment products wholesaling experience (preferred).
  • Retail experience selling similar investment products in an institutional setting.
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 63 licenses required.  Life and Variable insurance licenses required.
  • Industry designations preferred (CPA, CFA, ChFC, CLU, etc.)
  • Demonstrated sales & marketing knowledge of annuities, variable products, investment solutions and their appropriate applications within the context of a needs-based sales process.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exercise sound judgment and solid decision making for allocating company resources for business development
  • Strong territory management and organizational skills. Highly motivated to work independently and under pressure.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time over a large geographic territory.

Preferred Skillset:

  • All licenses required for the role are completed and can show you have used them in previous roles.
  • Shown progression as an internal wholesaler and would have the sales acumen to take on more of a hybrid wholesaler role.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$50,700.00 - $84,500.00
