Position Overview:

We are seeking a results-oriented VP Data and AI Platform Engineering with a strong track record of building scalable cloud-native platforms in the healthcare industry. This role will lead the development of our Data and AI Platform with a focus on enabling rapid customer onboarding and driving innovation through advanced AI and Generative AI technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building enterprise-class platforms that are secure, compliant, and designed to scale on cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and scaling of the Data and AI Platform, ensuring seamless integration across all applications and supporting both AI/ML capabilities and broader business data needs.
  • Design, develop, and deploy a next-generation cloud-native Data and AI Platform using AWS, Azure, or GCP technologies, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with our strategic business goals.
  • Architect solutions that streamline the integration and onboarding of new clients using ETL tools and Delta Lake, ensuring seamless data access across the enterprise.
  • Lead DevOps teams to ensure continuous integration/delivery and operational excellence using tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, implementing best practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to emphasize automation, scalability, and resilience.
  • Strategize and implement advanced AI and Generative AI solutions using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar, leveraging NLP and other AI technologies to enhance platform capabilities and drive measurable business value.
  • Lead Data Platform team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for data governance, data architecture, and analytics, ensuring that the data platform meets the needs of business and application teams.
  • Experience with migration projects, including data migration or migrating applications from one platform to another, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption.
  • Ensure all platforms meet stringent healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and HITRUST, by adhering to zero-trust security principles and safeguarding sensitive data while maintaining compliance with state and federal standards.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams within the healthcare technology sector, focusing on building and scaling cloud-native enterprise-class platforms.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in designing and deploying cloud-native architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP with deep expertise in microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and data security frameworks.
  • Experience with migration projects, including data migration or application migration.
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach technical teams, fostering career growth and leadership within the organization.
  • Bring mandatory experience developing healthcare technology platforms with expertise in FHIR standards, HIPAA compliance, and secure healthcare data management.
  • Exhibit a history of successful delivery with measurable outcomes that demonstrate the ability to drive projects to completion on time and within budget.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on platform engineering and AI technologies.
The salary range below is for Base Salary.  Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation.  Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
Base Compensation
$200,000$275,000 USD
