SENIOR FUNDING ANALYST

Position Summary

Senior, Funding Analyst organizes, delegates, and problem solves day to day workflows of the ASO Funding team. Major responsibilities include training staff on departmental processes, researching and responding to advanced internal and external inquiries regarding claim funding and recommending and implementing process improvements. When necessary, this position supports members of the team in completing recurring tasks to ensure quality and turn around time KPIs of the department are being met.

Essential Functions

  • Audit and reconcile data between financial systems using Excel and other tools.
  • Work closely with the ASO Funding Manager to create and execute a training plan with team members
  • Understands current systems infrastructure to assist team members and modify existing processes and systems in order to meet evolving needs.
  • Ownership of completing manual and complex stop loss calculations and audits
  • Posting financial transactions in accounting system.
  • Identifying, tracking, and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Performing weekly and monthly claim fund report reconciliations.
  • Advancing departmental goals by assisting with special projects and other duties.
  • Creating and maintaining guides and in-house process documentation.
  • Independently problem-solving funding and stop loss issues
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience required.

Experience And Skills

  • 3+ years of Financial Operations experience in Accounting, Banking, or Billing required.
  • 1-2 years funding or medical stop loss experience
  • Health Insurance Industry knowledge preferred
  • Intermediate or Advanced skill in Excel required
  • Microsoft Access experience is a plus
  • Prior claims processing experience is a plus
  • Must be a goal-oriented and a self-motivated problem solver who maintains the utmost attention to financial details.
