ABOUT THE ROLE:
SJC Media is seeking a creative and detail-oriented women’s lifestyle commerce writer to join Chatelaine, an iconic women’s lifestyle brand that celebrates, inspires, informs and empowers an often-overlooked demographic: women aged 35+.
In this role, you will craft compelling and informative content that integrates seamlessly with affiliate strategies, helping Chatelaine’s loyal readership discover reputable products and services that spark joy. You will be responsible for pitching and producing articles, product round-ups, reviews and other content that not only informs but also drives conversions. Professional experience in writing, editing and reporting is necessary. Familiarity with a CMS is important, as well as minor formatting and image editing skills.
Responsibilities include:
- E-Commerce Integration: Develop content that effectively incorporates affiliate links and product recommendations, enhancing the reader’s shopping experience.
- Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in women’s lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and wellness to produce relevant and timely content.
- Audience Engagement: Use SEO best practices and audience insights to create content that resonates with our readers and drives traffic and conversions.
- Production: Build commerce posts in WordPress that adhere to Chatelaine’s structure and formatting guidelines.
Qualifications:
- At least three years of editorial writing/editing experience with lifestyle content, including commerce experience
- Work experience for a major publisher or news brand is a plus
Desired Skills:
- Strong grasp of CP Style: spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Use of interview/research skills to inform fact-based advice and shopping direction
- Attention to detail and ability provide quick turnaround work
- Basic SEO knowledge
- WordPress experience
- Basic understanding—or familiarity with—affiliate marketing platforms including Skimlinks and Amazon
