  • #1 Objective: Deliver Our Creative on Time, on Spec and on Quality

Who Will You Report Into?

Hello, my name is JD Apolo, Head of Video Post-Production at TNT, and I need your help. I was hired directly by the CEO to build an incredibly talented video advertisement creative team in Cavite. It’s been an amazing journey as we scaled from just myself and a handful of editors to a talented team of 25+ video editors. But we’re only just getting started. We have an ambitious goal to double in 2024, which means a lot more ads being produced, lots more projects to manage, and lots more details to sort out, etc. That’s where you come in.

We need to hire more creative editors who are experts at visual storytelling and can convert a script into a persuasive video that sells. We produce over 500 pieces of video creative weekly – a number that significantly grows each month. Our clients depend on us to deliver quality creative on time. You’ll make an immediate impact by jumping into our queue and editing projects that will increase the sales for our clients.

What’s the Ideal Candidate’s Background?

The ideal candidate a fluent English speaker who has at least 5-7+ years’ experience working in a digital agency, performance marketing creative ad agency, or an internal creative department as a video editor producing direct response video ads for social media channels. You are an expert with the full adobe suite. Your ideation and editing have resulted in a lot of digital media spend, you thrive on persuasive storytelling, and you were born with the “gut-feeling” to utilize GFX, sound design and brilliant editorial pacing to nail the hook, agitate the problem and deliver the thought-provoking concept and CTA in a way that compels a viewer to click and buy.

Given our focus on health and wellness clients, experience in that market is highly advantageous. With a portfolio of successful ads, you can share countless stories of transforming scripts into winning controls, sustaining years of profitable spending through creative expansions and numerous variations. Having edited hundreds of scripts, you grasp the persuasive structure of effective advertisement while your editing experience equips you to train-up even junior video editors, guiding them toward excellence in visual storytelling.

Because of the virtual nature of our team, you’re able to work our standardized hours of 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET (UTC-5, New York), regardless of where you live – important so we’re all in the same rhythm and work efficiently.

And you love working in a team environment with other high-performing people. You love to share insights, brainstorm hypotheses, run experiments, collaboratively deconstruct winners and losers to methodically create winner after winner, virtually high-fiving each other along the way.

What’s It Like Working at TNT?

We’ve gone to great lengths to set up a culture that supports rapid learning and success for creative performance testing. Moreover, we’re extremely heavily focused on collaboration and teamwork to ensure we have proper coverage across all our clients.

For example, we’ve structured our teams into cells, each of which has a portfolio of clients it's assigned. Each cell is comprised of a performance manager, media buyer, creative producer, junior and senior copywriters, and video editors. And everyone on the cell marches to the beat of the same drum, focused on the single goal of helping clients hit their spend and ROAS targets.

Regardless of what cell you’re in, everyone benefits from the following:

  • Access to Data – Access to the same performance data as everyone else so you can instantly see how your creative performs, detect patterns and gain insights.
  • Shared Learnings – Participation in our weekly Best Ads call wherein we review the top performers to see what’s working, or not, for everyone else, accelerating your learning.
  • Clear Feedback / Mentoring – You’ll be given clear feedback on your performance from me and your video team lead to ensure you continually upskill and develop your craft.
  • Subject Variety – You’ll be given a huge variety of ad requests (new concepts, hooks, formats, trends and avatars), with a mix of clients and different offers in your assigned cell, rotating to other cells over time.
  • Career Progression – Your success determines how fast you progress to oversee our larger clients…there is no mandated bureaucratic waiting period; only success matters.

Plus, there’s no hierarchy of ideas. A winner is a winner regardless of where it comes from. What’s important is that you cultivate a creative environment where good ideas flourish into winning controls.

What Will You Be Responsible for?

Put simply, you will be accountable to the creative producer’s creative requests on time and on spec.

Each week, you will take directions from the creative producer to edit and deliver short-form direct response video advertisements (final with GFX and sound design) for delivery on all the major social channels. These assets will include everything from expansions of existing winners to brand new script concepts written by the cell’s copywriters.

We are an ad department vs. a content department. Your #1 priority is to create ads that sell. That means you’ve got the experience to tell a good story, while weaving persuasive elements to capture, encourage, motivate a customer to act right now. You aren’t the type of individual who chooses the first broll you see on a search, rather you sweat until you find the sound, image and textual element that builds the most compelling story.

We are not looking for an assembly-line editor. We want a right-brain/left-brain creative. That means you invest the time in research, become intimately aware of our customer persona’s so you can create an empathetic story line. Every media channel has its own unique “native” look and feel. You will be expected to understand the nuances of each channel so your ad can hit the highest conversion metrics. The whole team will be running toward the same goal: make great video ads for social that win month on month.

How Will Your Time Be Spent?

While any given week can vary based on client demands, here’s roughly how it shakes out:

  • 60% editing your heart out alongside your peers
  • 20% collaborating with the editing team lead to perfect editing marketing elements
  • 10% on calls strategizing, analyzing, brainstorming, providing feedback
  • 10% on research, identifying trends and deconstructing winners to “crack the code”

What are the Requirements?

  • 5-7+ Years Creative Marketing Agency or Internal Creative Department
  • Technical Expertise – Complete understanding of post-production workflow. Expert level experience in Adobe’s Full suite including Premiere Pro & Photoshop. Bonus points for expert level in After Effects. (Additional Skills: Story structure, graphics, animations, color, sound design, and finishing, plus professional-level experience in Microsoft Office).
  • Organizational Rockstar – You love personal optimization. This means you will collaborate with the team to make life more efficient, more enjoyable, and more effective through the utilization of project management software and through tools and applications that can make our virtual experience more streamlined.
  • Driven to Excellence – You’ve got an autonomous ownership mentality with an inner drive to excellence that other people who aren’t built that way find disturbingly intense :-)
  • Expert Collaborator - You will ensure projects are on course and communication with our creative coordinator is clear through daily touch points and updating your tasks within our project management software.
