Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • Five years of directly-related exempt level professional experience within an area of human resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Executive recruitment experience in higher education and/or healthcare Industry
  • Professional HR Certification (such as PHR or SPHR)

Job Summary:

Responsible for leading the executive recruitment effort for the university.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborates with organizational leadership and hiring authorities to model executive workforce and position needs and to design effective candidate profile and sourcing strategies.
  • Develops and/or facilitates the development and implementation of search strategies for executive recruitment efforts (including marketing, networking, candidate mining, etc.) to promote strong candidate pipeline. Maintains current knowledge of trends and practices in executive recruiting.
  • Works with HR partners including HR Generalists, Compensation Analysts, onboarding specialists and hiring authority and his / her administrative assistant to ensure a smooth recruitment, salary determination, hiring and onboarding experience.
  • Serves as main point of contact for all executive search vendor relationships and contracts, tracks vendor performance and coordinates services with hiring authorities / search committees.
  • Coordinates/manages multiple concurrent executive searches at one time ensuring a fluid process and the identification of process improvements.
  • Serves as a liaison with business and civic leaders in Galveston County to ensure the most attractive and current information and resources are available for potential applicants. Develops partnerships with recruiting organizations in South East Texas to identify job opportunities for candidate spouses, partners, and significant others.
  • Provides active guidance and training to search committees/members.
  • Coordinates communication with candidates as well as all phases of the recruiting/hiring process.
  • Ensures all recruiting practices are in compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to EEO, immigration and company policy. Responsible for promoting and maintaining fair and consistent employment practices and promotes the selection of a diverse workforce.
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient HR professional.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources and employment law.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Competent use of personal computers and general office applications, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
  • Project management skills.
  • Solid organizational, time, and project management skills and the ability to multitask.

Partially remote work. Onsite for meetings, candidate interviews, and other responsibilities as needed.
