Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer who will design, develop, and implement Snowflake data models tailored to meet growing analytics demand from various business functions within the company.

In this role, you will work closely with BI Developers, Data Integration Engineers and Data Governance professionals to build data solutions and deliver insights while ensuring data integrity. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and implement data solutions in Snowflake 

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements 

  • Translate business requirements into complex SQL code, and develop robust data models in DBT Cloud 

  • Implement and enforce data security measures to comply with best practices 

  • Monitor Snowflake performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize systems to ensure high efficiency and cost optimization 

  • Stay current with new features introduced in Snowflake and DBT 

  • Collaborate with Data Governance team to ensure data processes adhere to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements 

  • Document technical solutions, processes, and data architecture 

  • Participate in migration of data assets from existing Postgres system to Snowflake, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and performance optimization 

  • Manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows using GitHub to ensure seamless development and deployment processes 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field 

  • Experience in a data engineering or analytics engineering role, with hands on experience in Snowflake and DBT is required; the candidate must have at least one production implementation experience using these technologies. Snowflake certification is a plus 

  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills 

  • Knowledgeable about data warehousing, modeling and reporting concepts 

  • Experience with Fivetran, Boomi, Github, JIRA 

  • Extensive experience in procedural SQL programming (UDF and Stored Procedure) 

  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment practices using GitHub or similar tool 

  • Scripting experience in Python, JavaScript, Go, or any other language 

  • Experience in analyzing, manipulating and dealing with data from Salesforce or similar business applications  

  • Knowledge about reporting platforms such as Power BI and Tableau 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to high-quality output 

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences 

  • Strong business partnership skills and ability to collaborate with a team
