As the Inclusive Design Program Consultant (m/f/x), you will play a crucial role in guiding teams through our inclusive design program with a focus on the EU. You will be responsible for communicating the vision for accessibility programs in presales and supporting the delivery of Applause services as a subject matter expert. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accessibility, consulting, and a passion for driving inclusivity through a focus on user experience, and a proven track record of consulting with teams across the software lifecycle to embed accessibility and inclusivity best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

Account Support

  • Assist presales teams with building and presenting program recommendations for customers utilizing Applause services and point of view relating to Accessibility and Inclusive Design.
  • Prepare data-driven presentations on the value of services provided to key stakeholders in Accessibility and Inclusive Design. Present program value and viewpoints in meetings. Assist Account Managers and Solution Delivery Managers with business reviews.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Develop strategic plans for customer teams on inclusive design, ensuring they have a clear path to success to achieve benchmarks on inclusive user experience.
  • Perform design reviews, expert evaluation and analysis with feedback from people with disabilities on new and existing products, and serve as an subject matter expert to customer teams.
  • Review audit results and mentor Applause auditor team on customer specific testing guidelines. Review and maintain quality of Applause deliverables to customers.
  • Develop training materials and deliver training programs on accessibility and inclusive design to designers, engineers, and program managers.
  • Consult with solution delivery manager and expert team to conduct regular progress assessments to track customer team maturity, provide feedback, and offer guidance to address any challenges or roadblocks.


What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Accessibility Studies) or equivalent practical experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, such as WCAG 2.2 and EN 301549, and how these guidelines apply to the European Accessibility Act.
  • Expert understanding of assistive technologies such as screen readers and alternative navigation tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Full professional proficiency in German and English
