JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to a Senior Accountant, the Accounts Payables Associate will ensure accurate, complete, and timely processing of invoicing and payments to our vendors. Additionally, this position will support the company's collection efforts to improve Days Sales Outstanding. This role will work closely with the Finance department and interface with vertical leaders to devise best practices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processing AP invoices: This includes clarifying questionable items, and prices, or receiving signatures, and verifying and calculating extensions and totals.
  • Verifying financial data: This includes checking vendor files for previous payments and assigning voucher numbers.
  • Maintaining records: This includes keeping copies of vouchers, invoices, or correspondence, and maintaining meticulous records of outstanding payables.
  • Monitoring expenses: This includes keeping track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and statements.
  • Preparing payments: This includes practising effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Collaborate with the finance team on special projects and additional tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Accounting Experience: Previous experience in accounts payable or finance roles is preferred.
  • ERP Proficiency: Experience using an ERP system is essential for this role.
  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable using various accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
