Director, Investor Relations, Biotechnologyat MBX Biosciences

Remote

MBXs world-class proprietary drug discovery platform is a distinguishing strength. We are combining our deep expertise in peptide discovery and development with our novel, proprietary platform technology to develop new medicines intended to help those with rare and prevalent diseases. Our growing pipeline of drug candidates is focused on clinically validated targets with well-defined regulatory pathways to address significant unmet medical needs. MBX Biosciences is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company pioneering Precision Endocrine Peptide (PEP) therapeutic candidates to help people with endocrine disorders live fuller and healthier lives.

Our lead candidate, MBX 2109, is in Phase 2 clinical trials and is a potential best-in-class parathyroid hormone peptide prodrug in development for the treatment of hypoparathyroidism. Our second candidate, MBX 1416 is an investigational therapy in Phase 1 clinical trials and is being developed as a potential first-in-class treatment for post-bariatric hypoglycemia. We also have a long-acting GLP-1/GIP co-agonist for the treatment of obesity, that is currently undergoing IND-enabling studies, with the aim to submit an IND in the first half of 2025.

The Director of Investor Relations' contributions will be indispensable in crafting and implementing MBX Bioscience's investor relations strategy. This position is a direct report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will work in partnership with the CEO and other leaders to foster and nurture connections with investors, analysts, and significant external stakeholders. Your role will involve being the conduit between the investment community and collaborating closely with top management to convey our Company's corporate achievements, strategic aims and avenues for expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrated member of the investor relations team responsible for shaping and driving the Companys corporate reputation and credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Develop, manage and maintain all written investor-facing communication such as press releases, quarterly earnings releases, conference call scripts, key messaging, QAs and presentation materials.
  • Manage external investor relations and public relations firms, as appropriate, for key deliverables.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and investor sentiment to provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Partner with the legal and finance teams to support SEC and other disclosures, as appropriate.
  • Partner with internal team members to provide accurate, consistent, and timely responses to external inquiries from investors, stakeholders, and analysts.
  • Work productively and frequently with the Executive Leadership Team to understand the timing and impact of business events and develop key messaging and communications around these events.
  • Conduct periodic peer research and maintain investor targeting list.
  • Develop multi-year investor targeting and communication plans.
  • Manage social media content to ensure consistency with corporate communications and brand messaging.
  • Oversee special projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and shareholder expectations.
  • Translate financial data and business objectives into compelling narratives that resonate with investors, supporting the organization's capital-raising efforts and enhancing shareholder .
  • Manage gathering feedback via investor relations and provide input to the leadership team, ensuring alignment between investor sentiment and corporate strategy.

Education

  • Bachelors degree. Advanced degree preferred but not required. Scientific education preferred but not required.


Experience

  • 7-10 years' experience with 5+ years of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications at a public biotechnology/specialty pharma company.
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
