Salary: $100,000 - $140,000

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Account Manager to join our Development Team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our current donor portfolio, ensuring successful engagement, stewardship and reporting. This position is crucial for maintaining and enhancing our relationships with donors and partners, ultimately supporting SOA's mission and growth.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of current donors, including foundations, corporations, and individual supporters.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to strengthen relationships with donors and maximize their involvement with SOA.
  • Write compelling reports and proposals that effectively communicate the impact of our programs and demonstrate the value of donor contributions.
  • Oversee donor stewardship activities to ensure timely communication and recognition of donor support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and data for reporting and proposal writing.
  • Monitor and analyze donor trends and preferences to inform strategy and outreach efforts.
  • Attend and represent SOA at donor meetings, events, and conferences as needed.
  • Assist in planning and executing donor appreciation events and activities.
  • Stay informed about current trends and issues in ocean conservation to effectively communicate with donors.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in donor management, fundraising, or account management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record of successful proposal and report writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for ocean conservation and sustainability is highly desirable.
  • This role will require occasional travel both domestically and internationally
